As one of the most prestigious and well-known hotels in Florence, The Grand Hotel Minerva provides a free internet and Wi-Fi point, a solarium, and a rooftop pool and lounge bar offering panoramic views. Excellent location, within a few minutes walking from all the major sites, friendly helpful staff (I needed to print our return boarding passes and the receptionist gave me use of their computer and printer). We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a junior suite which was huge!! for an extra 30 euros, possibly because we arrived before midday. We had booked a classic double.

This hotel is in a convenient location with good, quiet rooms and the staff are attentive. Although we had booked a superior double, we were upgraded to a luxury suite with fabulous views.

Good room in a location convenient to the train terminal and the various tourist sites in the area. Free internet!

Unable to do our own ironing. The hotel only uses one tour company which is not necessarily the best company...

No mention of major redevelopment of piazza outside hotel during stay, asked for double room, got 2 singles pushed together

The pool on the roof - with great views, bar and complimentary nibbles, extensive breakfast buffet, generous size of room (family suite with two bedrooms and two bathrooms), location very convenient for main sights and shopping but quite quiet.

Not the hotel's fault obviously but the Square outside was under development - but quiet as builders were on holiday!
